FIGHT FOR MONICA

Fight for Monica is a group of allies, activists and organizers supporting Monica Cannon-Grant, an activist and civil rights leader in Boston who is experiencing state-sanctioned violence for her activism, namely after organizing a vigil and protest when George Floyd was murdered by police in Minneapolis.

Monica organized 55,000 people at Franklin Park in Roxbury during a time of racial reckoning. As a result, she and her family began to receive many death threats from white supremacists online, via letter and in person after this protest. She reached out to law enforcement and elected officials for help. Help never came.

Today, she, like a lot of other organizers during this time, is facing federal charges. Monica has been doing community work for decades and has received many awards for her work which started in her Roxbury apartment.

We believe in Monica’s innocence and reject the misogynoir and trial by media that she has experienced in Boston and nationally. Join the movement.
